Peter (see left) has led many tours to Israel in the past. After an early career in Banking, he spent three years in Bible College before working as a Pastor in Winchester. This was followed by 14½ years as Senior Staff Evangelist for OAC Ministries. He is now the Director of Christian Family Ministries Trust. Married to Maureen, (see left) they have two married daughters and four grandchildren.

Depart from Heathrow for your day time flight to Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv. Transfer to Kibbutz Deganya Bet Hotel in time for evening dinner where you will be checking in to your en-suite room at the hotel.
After breakfast we shall drive the short distance to Nazareth passing through Cana of Galilee where Jesus performed his first recorded miracle. We will visit St Mary’s Well & the Nazareth Village, before travelling the 30 minute Journey to the shores of the Sea of Galilee. After a lunch stop in Tiberias we shall take a boat trip (see left) on the Lake and hold a short communion service whilst “out at sea.” Landing in Capernaum we shall visit Tabgha (Feeding of the 5000), Mensa Christi (Feed My Sheep) and the Mt of Beatitudes before returning to Deganya Bet for our evening meal.
The morning starts with a drive to Mt Carmel to view a stunning panorama from the roof of the Monastery built on the site thought to be the spot where Elijah contested with the prophets of Ba’al. Then on to Saffori, which was the capital of Galilee in the time of Jesus. After lunch an afternoon walk in the Banias National Park to the waterfall at Caesarea Philippi. This is of the course the place in the Bible where Jesus asks his disciples “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” (Matthew 16:13) Should timings work well the lunch stop will be at a Druze Village where you can try their unique style of food. (see right, Druze lady baking Pitta Bread)
In the morning first a visit to the Baptismal site at Yardenit before a visit to Beit She’an where King Saul’s head was displayed. Next a visit to the ancient synagogue at Beit Alpha. We continue on to Meggido [Armageddon] before stopping at Caesarea “Maritima” (see left) where Cornelius was converted and now known to be the home of Pontius Pilate. In the evening we check-in to the Caesar Hotel in Jerusalem.
Today we shall start our walk at the Western (Wailing) Wall (see right) where it is likely you will see Barmitzvah’s taking place, do not feel nervous about joining their celebrations, you will be welcome. Next to the Temple Mount, St Stephen’s Gate (Also known as the Lion Gate), Pool of Bethesda, the Via Dolarosa (The Way of Sorrows). A stop for rest and an amazing view from the Austrian Hospice before continuing to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. A walk through the Suk (Bazaar) will bring you to the Cardo the main street from the time of Jesus. Next we visit the Davidson Centre with its superb dynamic of the Temple, and visit the Southern Steps of the Temple where Jesus overturned the temple rogue traders. Evening free.
This morning we visit Bethlehem and view the Church of the Nativity and the Shepherd’s Fields. An opportunity to visit and meet the Arab Christians at Beit al Liqa In the afternoon, starting from the Mount of Olives, we visit Dominus Flavit (The Tear Drop Church), the Garden of Gethsemane (see left) and the Garden Tomb (Sometimes called Gordon’s Calvary) where there will be an opportunity for communion.
Travel down the Jericho Road to the lowest point on Earth at approximately 1300 ft below Sea Level. First a visit to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, next ascend to the summit of Masada (see right) by cable car to hear its amazing story. A lunch stop at the Ahava Dead Sea products base and an opportunity buy some special cosmetics before spending time in mud baths, swimming in the Dead Sea, taking Natural Hot Sulphur Springbaths and swimming in the pool at one of the Dead Sea Spa resorts.
This morning we visit the Israel Museum to see the Dead Sea Scrolls and the amazing Model of the City (see left) showing Jerusalem as it may well have been in the time of Jesus, before a final visit to the Old City for some haggling or simply relaxation. Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for return flight home.
