Summer Tour Staying in four centres Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Dead Sea and Tiberias.

Rev Mervyn Tilley has served as a pastor in the Elim Pentecostal Church for over 50 years and also served on Elim’s National Leadership Team for 9 years. He has been taking groups to Israel since 1982 and to date has visited Israel 99 times. He writes regularly on the subject of Israel for his denominational magazine and was once invited to the Israeli Consulate to meet the Director of Public Affairs – Dan Shaham who had read one of his articles. His tours are quite comprehensive including ancient and modern, biblical and secular, Jewish and Christian sites.  Tree planting is also a regular part of tours.

Monday 10th June

Depart London Heathrow on an afternoon BA flight to Tel Aviv. Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Jaffa, Ein Karem and Yad Vashem

Tuesday 11th June

Travel to Jaffa and visit the Hall of Independence with an opportunity for tree planting. Continuing to Ein Karem, home of John the Baptist and Yad Vashem the Holocaust Memorial museum.

Check into Jerusalem hotel.

Mount of Olives

Wednesday 12th June

Visit Mount of Olives, Gethsemane church of Paternoster (Our Father) Palm Sunday route, Dominus FLevit (our Lord wept), Gethsemane, Ste Peter in Gallicantu (hurch of the cock crowing), the Haas Promenade and finally the Friends of Zion Museum.

Western Wall

Thursday 13th June


Visit the Western Wall, Western Wall Tunnels, Temple Mount and Bethesda.

Garden Tomb

Friday 14th June

Visit the Garden Tomb where we will share communion, then we enter the Old City via Damascus Gate, calling at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Cardo, David’s Citadel and the Upper Room.





Saturday 15th June

Visit Bethlehem, Church of the Nativity and Shepherds Fields, then leaving Jerusalem for the Dead Sea and overnight stay.

Masada and Tiberias

Sunday 16th June

Leave for Tiberias calling first at Masade then at Qaser el Yahud baptismal site and Gideon’s Spring before arriving at the Ron Beach Hotel.






Monday 17th June

Our first visit will be to the Mt of Beatitudes, Tel Dan (one of the sources of then River Jordan, Banias (Caesarea Phillipi), Birket Ram, returning over the Golan Heights, seeing Mt Hermon and looking over into Syria.  Our final call will be Capernaum (time permitting).


Tuesday 18th June

Visit The Galilee Experience, sail on Galilee to Ginnosar (home of the famous Jesus boat). Finally share communion by the Galilee Shore.

Return home

Wednesday 19th June

Leave for Tel Aviv and the airport for a late afternoon flight calling en-route at Mount Carmel and Caesarea.
