Mike and Marion Kerry have visited Israel many times over the past twenty years and are experienced tour leaders having led several Biblical Tours as well as Tours to the Feast of Tabernacles. Mike is a retired Police Superintendent and Marion a retired Nurse. They have three married children and nine grandchildren (one is in heaven) and two foster grandchildren. After his retirement Mike became the Pastor of the Family Church at Billinge near Wigan and was succeeded by his son Stephen an ordained Elim minister, Mike is a member of the Board of UK Branch of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem and a trustee of the ICEJ UK Charity.

Day 1 ARRIVAL DAY – LONDON/LUTON- ISRAEL

Depart Luton Airport for Israel on an EL AL flight to the Holy Land. When we arrive our local Travelink representative will be there to assist us with the formalities at Ben Gurion Airport. After passing through customs, you will be introduced to your guide and driver, who will be with you throughout your pilgrimage. Transfer to your hotel in Netanya.

Day 2 CAESAREA – HAIFA – TIBERIAS

After an early start we head north and Drive to Caesarea to see the excavations of the Crusader City, the Herodian Port with its historical and Biblical connections to the lives of Peter and Paul.

We then drive on to the Bedouin Community of Ras Ali to learn about the Bedouin culture and hear about the work of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem and the contribution of the UK branch.

After lunch we will visit another ICEJ project, the Haifa Home for Holocaust survivors, where we will meet Holocaust Survivors hear their stories and learn about the work of the home.

Day 3. SEA OF GALILEE

We start the day with a visit to Magdala the home of Mary Magdalene then to the home town of Andrew and Philip – Bethsaida and onwards to Capernaum, centre of Jesus’ Ministry, – located here are the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the traditional site of Peter’s House. We will visit the Mount of Beatitudes – the traditional site of the ‘Sermon on the Mount’.

Day 4  SEA OF GALILEE –  NAZARETH

We will visit the exhibition at Nof Ginossar and see the ancient Jesus boat there will be a little time for shopping followed by a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

Continue to Nazareth where Jesus spent his early years and visit the Nazareth Village Project.

Just north of Nazareth is the village of Cana, the site of Jesus’ first miracle.

Day 5 UPPER GALILEE- MEGIDDO -JERUSALEM

After breakfast we drive North to the Golan Heights, visit Tel Dan which has lots of surprises and we have time to visit Caesarea Philippi and maybe even go to the “Gates of Hell”!

Depart the North and drive South via the Jordan Valley to visit Megiddo then onwards to Mount Tabor with an interesting ride to the summit and the traditional site of the transfiguration with spectacular views over the valley of Jezreel.

Finally we make our way to the Holy City of Jerusalem

Day 6 OLD CITY JERUSALEM

A wonderful day filled with Biblical sites. We begin with an early start on the Mount of Olives for a breath taking view of the entire city. As we walk down the traditional Palm Sunday route we will visit the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane. The day continues with the excavated Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed the man who had been crippled for 38 years before we enter St Ann’s Crusader Church where it has become traditional for our groups to sing together, demonstrating the amazing acoustics within the Church.

A highlight of the tour is always the time spent at the Garden Tomb where we will share communion after an informative tour of the garden itself.

Proceed to visit the excavations at the City of David, the Davidson Centre- the Jerusalem Archaeological Park – that reveals the most amazing discoveries of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period, on this day you will walk where Jesus walked.

We will also visit the Western Wall Tunnels and see evidence of the first and second temple with foundations going back to the time of Solomon.

Day 7 SHILOH & BETHLEHEM

After breakfast we drive to Biblical Shiloh – this is a fabulous visit with an excellent visitor centre that puts the Biblical history in context going back from the time of Joshua through the period of the Judges when the Tabernacle stood at Shiloh and the land was divided be-tween the tribes of Israel.

Our day continues as we visit the ancient Shepherd’s Fields in Bethlehem and perhaps spend time in a cave used in the time of Jesus as shelters for livestock.

We will also visit Herodium, also called Har Hordus, this is an archaeological site and ancient palace fortress built by Herod the Great.

To round off our day we will visit the really interesting Friends of Zion museum in Jerusalem.

Day 8 DEAD SEA

Depart Jerusalem and descend the Judean Wilderness to Qasr El Yahud the traditional baptismal site on the River Jordan. On to the lowest place on earth-the Dead Sea. Drive along the shore to Masada and ascend by cable car. Tour this mountain top fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jews against the Romans. Drive to a nearby oasis and relax and enjoy an opportunity to “float” in the Dead Sea. Before we return to Jerusalem we will visit the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.

Day 9 DEPARTURE DAY – ISRAEL – LONDON/LUTON

Departure day – transfer to Ben Gurion Airport and say goodbye to Israel after a wonderful time in the land of the Bible.
