Depart London for Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport and transfer to your accommodation. Overnight in Netanya.
After breakfast, a morning tour of Caesarea Maritima (King Herod’s summer palace and where Paul stood before King Agrippa). Then onto Mount Carmel where Elijah contested with the prophets of Baal. After lunch visit Meggido (Valley of Armageddon). Next, drive to the Nazareth Village (see right) for a tour and presentation of the life, times and teachings of Jesus. Overnight in the Galilee area.
We start our day at Caesarea Philippi before visiting Mount Bental with a view of Mount Hermon and the border with Syria, then drive across the Golan Heights and onto Capernaum where Jesus was based for the majority of His ministry. After an enjoyable St. Peter’s fish lunch, we walk down the Mount of Beatitudes to where the loaves and fishes miracle took place. Our day concludes after a visit to Nof Ginosar and the 2,000 year old boat, with a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee, (see left) including a short communion service. Overnight in the Galilee area.
Visit the amazing Roman ruins of Beit Shean where the body of King Saul was hung on the city walls. We then travel down the Jordan Valley to Qumran (see right) where the Essenes Sect were based and the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. After lunch travel over the border into Jordan at the Allenby Crossing near Jericho. Late afternoon float in the Dead Sea. Overnight near the Dead Sea.
A final chance for a breakfast float in the Dead Sea, then on to Bethany Beyond Jordan, believed to be the authentic site of Jesus’ baptism. We travel up to the historic site of Mount Nebo (see left) where Moses overlooked the Promised Land, then drive down the Kings Highway (spectacular!) to Petra. Overnight in Wadi Mussa (Petra).
Whole day in spectacular Petra, (see right) now acclaimed as one of the wonders of the world and by tradition where the Magi obtained the gifts for Jesus’ birth. After a long day of trekking, you are free to relax at our hotel or visit the 2,000 year old Cave Bar (oldest bar in the world) for a refreshing local fruit drink or peppermint tea. Overnight in Wadi Mussa (Petra).
We visit Wadi Rum (see left) (described by Lawrence of Arabia as ‘Rum the Magnificent’) for a Jeep safari through the Wadi, followed by a Bedouin lunch. A mid-afternoon transfer to Eilat border crossing for a free evening to relax and swim at the hotel, walk on the Red Sea beach or shop Tax Free. Overnight in Eilat.
We start our day with a visit to the Tabernacle in the Desert and a presentation comparing the Old Testament system to the New Testament sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We then drive onto Masada (spectacular and an extraordinary story). After lunch at Masada, (see right) shop for some of the best Dead Sea cosmetic products before driving up to Jerusalem where you have an evening to relax. Overnight in Jerusalem.
We visit the private olive garden at Gethsemane and spend time in prayer, visit St Anne’s Church, Pool of Bethesda, walk the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (crucifixion site) (see left). We walk up to the Jewish Quarter and visit the Upper Room. We end our day with a visit to Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. After dinner we visit the Citadel of David, Sound and Light Show. Overnight in Jerusalem.
We start our day with a walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel (either wet or dry) and finish at the Pool of Siloam. Next, we visit the Southern Steps of the Second Temple, followed by a visit to the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) (see right) and then visit the Generations Exhibition. Onto the Garden Tomb with a short communion service, then up to the Mount of Olives for a spectacular view over old Jerusalem. Free night to relax, shop or explore the Old City. Overnight in Jerusalem.
We say farewell to Jerusalem by visiting the Israel Museum to view the Dead Sea Scrolls and (see left reconstruction of Jerusalem in the time of the second Temple) We then drive to Neot Kidumim in the Judean Hills for a walking tour with a local guide who explains the meanings behind some of the plants from Biblical times. Our final treat is a farewell Biblical lunch before we transfer to Ben Gurion airport for return home.
