Rev. Alva  worked for several years as a qualified  nurse at the Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem. During that time she developed a love for the Holy Land.

She also has a Diploma in Theology, is engaged in pastoral work, and is a qualified Florist.

She now leads annual tours to Israel for those who wish to understand the roots of their faith.
